Install Mecmua

#On Windows

1. Open the Download page and choose Get it from Microsoft Store.
2. Press Get or Install in the Microsoft Store. It is free.
3. Open Mecmua from the Store page or the Start menu.

#On a Mac

1. Download Mecmua for Mac from the Download page. It runs on Macs with Apple silicon.
2. Open the file you downloaded and drag Mecmua into your Applications folder.
3. Open Mecmua from Applications or Launchpad.

#The first time you open it

Mecmua opens with a short tour of the main parts of the window. Read it, or skip it: everything in it is also in these docs.

#Mecmua keeps running when you close it

Closing the window does not stop Mecmua. It waits in the background, with a small icon near the clock (in the menu bar at the top of the screen on a Mac), so your phone can still reach it. Click that icon to bring the window back.

To stop Mecmua completely, open the icon’s menu and choose Quit.

#Updates

You never need to download Mecmua again. From the Microsoft Store, it is updated like your other apps. Installed any other way, it downloads new versions by itself and installs them the next time you quit. Updates never touch your notes.
