Let your own AI assistant work in your Mecmua.
Soon, the AI you already use, such as Claude, ChatGPT or a model on your own computer, will be able to read and tidy your pages, fill your memorization lists and look through your PDF library. You ask in plain words; it does the work inside Mecmua, where you can see it.
Things you could ask for.
Tidy your notes
“Turn this lesson transcript into a short page of notes under my Arabic page, with headings.” “Merge these three pages into one.”
Find what you wrote
“What did I write about this book last spring?” “Which pages mention this topic, and what do they say?”
Learn by heart
“Make memorization items from the definitions on this page.” “What is due for review this week?”
Work with your library
“Which of my PDFs talk about this subject?” “Gather what I highlighted in this book into a new page.”
Do the tedious parts
“Add every book in this list to my reading table.” “Fix the dates in these rows.” The boring hour becomes a sentence.
Plan with your own data
“Look at my reading list and suggest an order for next month, then put it in a new page.”
What MCP is, in plain words
Most AI assistants can only talk. To do something in a program, they need a way in. MCP, short for Model Context Protocol, is a common plug for that: a program that offers MCP tells the assistant what it can do there, and the assistant uses it when you ask.
Mecmua will offer that plug. Any assistant that understands MCP can then work with your Mecmua: Claude, ChatGPT, coding tools like Claude Code or Cursor, and programs that run a model on your own computer. You keep the assistant you like; Mecmua becomes one more thing it can help with.
Your notes stay yours
- Off until you turn it on. Nothing can reach your notes this way unless you switch it on in Mecmua’s settings, and you can switch it off again at any time.
- Only from your own computer. The door opens to programs on the same machine, not to the internet. Mecmua sends nothing anywhere by itself.
- You choose the assistant. What the assistant reads goes wherever that assistant runs. With an online one, the pages it opens are sent to that company, as when you paste text into it. With a model on your own computer, nothing leaves the machine.
- You see the changes. Edits appear in the open page as they happen, and anything deleted goes to the Trash, where it can be brought back.
Questions
How is this different from the AI Agent extension?
The AI Agent extension brings an assistant into Mecmua, so you chat with it from a page. MCP works the other way round: the assistant stays in its own app, and Mecmua opens a door for it. Use whichever fits how you work, or both.
Do I need to know anything technical?
No. When it is ready, this page will walk you through turning it on and connecting the common assistants, step by step, the way the phone guide does.
Will extensions work with it?
Yes. Memorization and the PDF library come first, and other extensions can add their own abilities later.
When will it be ready?
It is being built now and will arrive in a Mecmua update. This page will change from “coming soon” to a setup guide on that day. Want to say what you would use it for? Write to us.
