Terms

Last updated October 9, 2026

These terms are between you and Ömer Kocar, an individual in Canada (“we”), the maker of Mecmua. By downloading the app or buying an extension you accept them.

The app

Mecmua is free. You may install it on as many computers as you like and use it for anything lawful, personal or professional. You may not resell it or present it as your own.

Your notes are yours. We claim nothing over what you write.

Extensions

  • A paid extension is bought once, at the price shown, plus any sales tax or VAT added at checkout.
  • Its licence is for you, the buyer: use it on up to three of your computers at a time. Mecmua activates a key on each computer, and you can move it by removing the licence on one or by replacing the key on the Find a licence page. Please do not share or resell the key: a key that is shared may be withdrawn.
  • Updates to an extension you bought are free for as long as we publish them.
  • The Library extension includes free software (MuPDF, Tesseract and PDF.js). It is published under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3 or later, which gives you the right to its source code: ask and we send it.

Payments

Sales are processed by Stripe, acting as merchant of record through Link, which collects any tax due. Refunds follow our refund policy.

No warranty

We build Mecmua with care, but it is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. Keep backups of anything that matters: Mecmua makes this easy, since everything is in one folder. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data or indirect damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and of Canada. Nothing in them takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top says when. A purchase is governed by the terms of the day you made it.
